Exchange the ever useful detect poison spell for identify and change dispel magic to check against the warlock's willpower - better fixes than giving them call lightning. Giving warlocks call lightning would just be putting a bandaid on the dispel problem.

I 100% agree with this. I still consider Lorzatu (sp?) the best warlock I've ever seen.

I like the changes made to lightening bolt to add the side affect of being hit with a [REDACTED] ton of electricity. I think other spells should follow the same line of though. Like, Cone of Cold having a chance for a 'slow' affect, albeit not as strong as the actual slow spell.

Oho, did lightning bolt get changed?

Actually it was shocking grasp not lightning bolt that does the secondary affect. It's from a code update in 2008. Also the same one that made magma spray op apparently.

Quote:
Code:
New Stuff:
- Prone status reduces chance to hit and prevents most combat commands
Changes:
- Bash, trip and gore revamped to use prone affect instead of rest and lag
- Shocking Grasp spell has short-term debuff affecting reflex saves
- Lightning Bolt spell damage buffed
- Added 1-tick warning before conjured elemental disappears
- Magma Spray ignores magical protection
- The first 10 levels of enchantments don't count for item thieves
- Scout herbs can be located one status earlier than before
- Scouts can skin materials earlier than before but with failure chance
- Magical flight penalizes chance to hit
- Fatigue now works plus also eventually affects strength
- Cannot order NPCs to use secret abilities
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed so that shopkeepers do not yell about parolee being a lawbreaker
- Fixed hit point bug involving Fatigue
- Crash bug involving river currents

Also, elementals should be immune or healed from the same type of elemental damage.

I'm not even talking about balance, I just think the spell fits the skill set perfectly. If nobody uses call lightning in PK it's because only one class has it. I just think if you give them control weather, why not give them call lightning. It's not really much of a buff because fireball is already good. It's more like extra fluff for the class, I mean call lightning is a cool concept, warlocks should get access to it too. And yea elementals shouldn't be dispelled so easily and cone of cold has an excessive casting time. Healing rays is nasty though, I wont deny that.

It's a HUGE buff actually, you cannot compare fireball(room affecting) and call lighting(group affecting)

Finger of death is rarely seen in PK. (And not just because undead are OP to the point that art necromancers are a bad joke.)

That doesn't mean we need to expand it to hellions.

I am fairly confident that a good necro could roll over most of the mud without ever even learning animate dead. It's too bad people have no imagination and only see that one spell when they look at the necromancer skillset.

But yeah FoD is pretty easy to save against.
