The general consensus seems to agree with Elf getting up to 20 wisdom and 25 charisma, it would match well with the other SK races to be able to achieve the pinnacle in one stat - MC bards have already achieved 25 in the past. Elf getting it wouldn't be otherworldly.
Some have resonated that Elf can really use 23 intelligence, especially after the changes of concentration in trinkets. Looking around in SK, there is an incredible, abundant amount of NPC Elven Sorcerers, by just that class alone in the game. The idea of the Elves being 'good' at sorcery isn't new for anyone. It has been there for years, both in and outside of SK. Yet does the mechanic support it now...?
Deep-elf used to be Drow and it was really just a cool race. Dark aura is generally just cooler to play. It was not so difficult to accept that Deep-elf was much smarter than Elf when it was previously 24 vs 22 int. Now it is a stretch at massive 25 vs 22, and 22 is much more difficult to play now. There is an immense amount of SK lore to backup Elven casters.
Elf has plenty of vulnerabilities to go around with, as well. Some Deep-elves fear Bolt of Glory but it can only come from one PC class. Elves with vulnerabilities to poison, disease, and negative energies come from at least two PC classes casting - and in addition to existing powerful scrolls that can be obtained in the game, these spells can be readily scribed at any time, and used by five (5) classes that can recite scrolls.
Bolt of Glory doesn't even come in the form of trinkets, yet the school of negative energy spells can be double or triple scribed. It is true that Deep-elf gets countered pretty hard by Bolts, but isn't Elf at the very least 'on par' for vulnerabilities as Deep-elf?
Last but not least, rehashing a previous point here, Elf having 23 int would encourage more race/class combinations for Light aura, while still carrying incredible amount of drawbacks; it is still nowhere the godly powerful caster that is Deep-elf, but it will introduce diversity, and a small help in the general direction of Light aura.
Please. Thank you.
