This is dumb. Really dumb.
I like frontloading the leveling process so that I can RP more, and do other stuff later on down the line.
And this mindset is the problem. Thank you for highlighting it so clearly for everyone. Your RP should begin very early on and should scale with your leveling (ideally).
As for the "omg, u must sux" and other ignorant comments -- I have no issues leveling and this change would severely slow my leveling speed. Only, I don't care so much because I actually keep characters longer and have a story arc that goes with them.
There's not a 'small' minority of players who powerlevel fast, to get an uber-class/race/cabal combo to PKPKPKPKPK, then delete anywhere from 2 weeks to 4 months later when they get pked a few times only to reroll again. It's becoming more and more people. In fact, check the afterlife forum, it's an increasing trend for several years now is disposable characters with shallow RP and all PK driven purpose.

Pk should be a part of RP, not the otherway around. As far as ardith's snipe about better players...I can't laugh hard enough. If you seriously are that hardup on 'winning' a game that can't be won nor should it be treated as such (if you're a sane individual who plays this game for fun, not some whacked measure of self-worth) then you are the type of player who only helps perpetuate this type of harmful player attitude.
Also, taking swipes at ideas just because you are self-righteous in your play-style doesn't do anything but red herring the issue. I also wouldn't state that you are 'better' in any sense of the word from what I have seen of you. I have absolutely no sense or urgency of danger with you about. You are just another player and that's it. Sorry to poke at you, but you seem to be filled with some overbearing sense of self-worth that I just don't see the validation for.

Anyways, back to important things, I really think that we should begin punishing players via a system to encourage them to build up their RP well before GM (like apprentice/jman level).
I'd even contemplate a WoW resting system where you need to spend x number of hours not xping in order to gain experience from it again. Sure, you could spend that time botting it, but that is fine, it just slows the constant level->pk->delete->reroll cycle that seems to be an issue.
Either way, I just find it awesome that people who play a roleplaying game instead are more obsessed with mechanics than character concept or encouraging deep, fleshed out characters with hundreds of hours of RP as opposed to a few hundred hours of mostly plvl and pk, with smatterings of RP here and there.
Ah well. Guess they just can't hack it in games that are devoted to PVP.
