If we were truly to allow get all from a stunned person, then there probably only ought to be a single crime of theft allowed within a few minutes in this sort of situation.

There's been several times IRL where I have seen you pocket check people that were wide awake, sir. I don't see a reason why we shouldn't be able to pocket check someone who is unconscious in SK.


Well I was thinking not everyone can see a sleeping mans pockets. And I never claimed I wasn't a rogue IRL.

Like if I came across someone who was knocked out I wouldn't check their pockets. But if they were dead...

At first when I was writing this thread, I thought about something similar to jhorleb's idea, such as changing how mode stun works, but I ended up not suggesting that because that could make things complex, and we might change the dynamics of choice/diversity in PK. Suddenly everyone may opt to stun instead and then the whole meta game has changed.

I was hesitant about suggesting the 'get all john' idea because there was a separate discussion the other day about players generally disliking 'get all corpse' mechanic. I am in the middle about that. The result of that discussion seems to be "There is too much chaos in the room right now." So I figured if 'get all corpse' sticks around, maybe we ought to throw in 'get all john' too, because currently stunning is much more difficult than killing, and they are alive* instead of dead.

(* Minimal difference in PvP when 'get all corpse' is involved because most players value equipment more than life, but roleplaying-wise there is a substantial difference between killing and stunning, stating the obvious.)

As for Revel's concern about being able/unable to peek, I had anticipated this actually, thus the rewording in the first post that "They are carrying the following:" The rationality behind this is that we can type 'examine john' to get the same result as 'look john', and if we are examining, we are certainly looking into their inventory, and certainly when they are unconscious.

Tangentially related to the stun v kill discussion, along the lines of the 25 percent health thing, in mode kill, if you aim mid or lower, you can disable some attacks before killing a person. It is possible to sever or mangle arms or legs, making them non-functional in battle (and making some skills unavailable). In mode stun, such is not the case.

Yeah if you're stunning and that limb hits 0 it should not function anymore. Same as if cutting it off. Maybe even having them drop their weapon or shield while keeping their jewelry.
