It only makes sense for the first shot from each crossbow. Then how do you draw it for the next shot when you have something in your other hand? In some ways, the bug is that we allow you to have anything in your other hand at all when using any type of crossbow.

The bug, clearly, is that there are no machine gun type bolt chains for instantaneous reloading.

We're talking about swashbucklers here.

There're actually magazine-fed, spring-loaded crossbows.

This is true.

I'm also surprised there are no flamethrowers in SK. Functional flamethrowers that used Greek fire have been found that date back to the Roman Empire. Flamethrowers would be [REDACTED] awesome.

Oh, also, considering a merc with fourth attack can get up to four shots from a siege crossbow in a single round already invalidates the realistic load and crank time of crossbows in SK.

Are you sure about that?

Pretty sure with spec and GM haste they can get up to four, but will more often hit 3. Still invalidates the load and crank times of realistic crossbows of similar type (not counting magazine-fed, spring-action ones of course).

Swashbucklers have very high dexterity. How does a character poke a finger at something and cause it to explode, like Ryoga? That's theoretically impossible, but in the game it's possible because, well, that's damn cool.

And there's nothing wrong with observing the rule of cool. The Demon Hunter in D3 makes it work.

Besides, it's been pointed out before: sometimes, things don't make a whole lot of logical sense in the game, but they work anyway because you want it to be balanced or interesting. This might be one of those cases. Let it happen, see how it works out. Hand crossbows do [REDACTED] damage anyway. It's not like they're finesse weapons, either. (They should be, IMO.)

I'd say this is one of those "just try it" situations. Slap it on the class, compile and throw up a test version somewhere (remember when we switched servers and there was a public invite for everyone to stresstest?) and let's find out how it plays out. I bet it would actually be pretty awesome.

This is not true. From a physics standpoint everything has a resonant frequency that when reached can overstress the object and cause it to explode/exhibit odd behavior. Wineglasses are the popular thing to show, but perhaps a rather famous example is the Tacoma Narrows bridge. Just about everybody has seen footage of the bridge swaying, and then finally collapsing.

Quick and dirty suggestion:

Acid-dissolved corpses should, like other containers, empty the contents into a character's inventory.
