Asked patrisaurus to post his perspective, but I left my horse (in formation) resting in the inn last night while I went out with a few other PCs. While we were fighting, my horse got up and dirt kicked another PC in the inn. I'm guessing this is the first of many side effects to the gutting you're doing to the group combat code, although it could be an extreme coincidence and an unrelated pet bug error.

This is a common reaction pets have. They'll always stand once you get into combat, even if they're not in the same room as their owner, and if there's a NPC or PC with the same target word as something you're fighting, they'll attack it.

No code changes have been added. The only changes in the game were some definition changes for pets. Locking this thread. I will make an appropriate Q&A thread once there has actually been a code update.
