Why not give swashes third attack and a couple of aggressive skills? Would that be too much of a buff? I mean aren't they supposed to be exceptionally fast, therefore not needing heavy armor? As for skills maybe something like Blade Flurry, it would be a swash only tactic, something like a fencing move.

Or, like OA stated that they need to be in stance defensive to stay in the front line but their DPS goes to [REDACTED]. How about finesse, when you reach master unlocks the ability to treat all of the benefits of stance aggressive when in stance defensive?

Still, light armor needs an energy version and I loved the introduction of dragonscale but alas it ac isn't good to be truly viable. finally, they need some active skills including something to cause a debuff to not let them quaff/bash...

Dulrik should just move energy to light armor. No real reason it should be clothing. Although, I don't think this change is going to happen, and people are just going to straight QQ about this suggestion. Oh nooez, my cloth caster can't wear some of the top protection armor anymore QQ QQ QQ. Oh well, not likely to happen.

Aaaaand that wouldn't have any impact on, say, a crossbow-specc'ed merc?

I see what you did there.

Swashies hurt in two areas: they can't knock flying opponents prone, and they can't adequately handle a lot of melee damage. The first can be solved with an active skill, the second probably requires a little bit more tweaking to finesse (and not enhanced parry, since that would further buff mercenaries).

No, no it wouldn't.

I don't even think about what benefits my character could get, but the rest of you always want to make it about that.

I'm here to discuss swashbucklers, not my character.

I'm also of the opinion that they'll be just fine after the fly fix Dulrik leaked, but we'll see. Well outside the armor problem. That's a huge problem with the game. There's just not enough mithril to go around for all the light armor classes, and the armor that is out there isn't even that great, or can be really difficult to find.

If skinned dragonscale had innate enchants on it and also if it had the same AC as mithril, that would fix the armor issue.

I still think all skins should have innate enchants on it.

If swashbucklers were given access to a wider weapon selection than just swords, daggers, and crossbows, what sort of game-breaking combos would we see? Would that be out of line?

Come to think of it... can a swashbuckler dual wield crossbows and still auto-reload?

No they can't even dual wield hand xbows. We have asked for that also.

Also, I would love to see then to have other weapons, like axes and let dwarves have access to swashbuckler. I want my dual wielding axe mauler!

It's not necessary for skins to have enchantments. I suggest people just wait off on talking about enchantments for now.

I just think we all need to chill and wait for the fly fix to go in before complaining about swashbucklers again. Between that, and the disarm change, I think the class has vastly improved, or will improve, anyway.
