That is why I haven't commented much on the subject. Still don't understand the 1/3rd failure rate on master NPCs and the assault charge for non-offensive actions.

It's the same will save as any other will spell. Of course, more than 1/3 of the player races are resistant to charm. But that's always been the case.

Most other will spells get more than one cast in three rounds.

Failed persuade also puts you in combat and you get no further attempts.

Currently, a failed persuasion in the Empire (not sure if it matters where) is instantly considered assault and battery. If I am not mistaken, isn't that the equivalent of stunning someone? When in fact, the bard has yet to even lay a finger on them (NOTE: mode kill). According to Imperial law, this results in an execution.

If this manner of breaking the law is true throughout Pyrathia. I would have to agree that the penalty for failed persuasion is too steep.
