If you want to boost their damage output, give them third attack. They're supposed to be fast, right?
Maybe a new skill called "Flurry" in which they temporarily strike more times in a round? Multiple strikes will equate to more damage, should those strikes land.

Class is trash, better off being junked all together. Why you may ask? what roll does the Swashbuckler uniquely add to the game? At one point in time they had the capacity to tank and deal decent damage by the number of attacks they had and countered. Now they are quickly mowed into the ground with the use of weapons that can't be parried, and why bother with taunt, when bash is far more effective? They honestly bring little to nothing to the game as they once have nor really fill a unique roll.

I honestly can't see why someone would roll a Swashbuckler over a Mercenary or Barbarian aside from saying "Hey look at me! I have two swords!"

Naturally I could be wrong, but judging from what I've seen, read here in the forums and the actually amount of Swashbucklers I've seen in game over the years, I really can't be that far off base.

I'd be more inclined to believe that, if i had not just learned one bad barbarian get owned by a sprite swashy.

Never underestimate the little guy. He'll surprise you.

Taunt is trash because you can mod your way out of the int penalty.

Truth.

Not to mention you can also ethereal you way out of the damage, or attack something else to break taunt.

Wouldn't the answer to making taunt useful by actually lowering the max for the int stat?

To what? A fully charasmatic swashie can drop a casters int by +10 int points. The obvious answer to me is to not allow taunted intelligence to be modded by equipment.

We are arguing for the same thing. I said lower the person's maximum int (which means it can't be raised higher with equipment). :P

Oh I see what you're saying. So instead of just being a negative to the stat, it would actually modfiy the stat itself, making it impossible to modify.
