consider if you will, the obvious fact that it's only through the good graces of the evil player base that I have been allowed to maintain a decent set of equipment. I die several times a day to evil forces because that is what my character would do.
I don't understand why. I've died to some evil force or other some ten plus times so far, but each and every time I have had all my equipment returned, or left undisturbed. Rhakeesh was wearing the only suit of armor he's ever built, because he's never been parted with all his belongings before, despite numerous deaths previous. In my mind it only made sense to assume that the chivalrous acts of my character towards the evil players he has encountered had resulted in a similar response. When I first started playing we used to have crazy fights with nothing but instant full loot/junk on death, that was the standard.
I remember once disarming Zaknafein and picking his sword up, then running away. He convinced me to return it after some amount of talking, only to summon me to my death rather than simply allowing me to return it peacably as I had already agreed. This from an elf. It used to be cut-throat, is what I'm saying. I guess I was just enjoying the shifted paradigm that I'd been rolling on for so long.
Thank you, Edoras, for the advice in regard to in game and out of game knowledge. I am never quite sure what boundaries are fuzzy and which aren't. Thank you also for taking the time to help me address my concerns with this game. I have always found you to be quite considerate in forums, in our few interactions. I'm sure I don't do a very good job of expressing it, but I really do appreciate people taking the time to help me through things such as this.
