As I said. Someone lost a fight, and now he's butt hurt. period; and yes, I would buff the hell out of some maledictions. Why would anyone be able to just "wait out" the Bubonic Plague? It only killed a third of a continent in it's hey day.
It isn't like massive armies of newb Necromancers are rolling through Morea on a daily basis, so quit crying, wash the tears away, and go do something about it. Since Ethereal is not a spell that Necromancers have, my guess would be he doesn't have an infinite ability to use it, so go get your ten Paladin friends, and spam BoG and SoF like you always do. As far as the guardians getting waxed, what really needs to happen is the CRS system which prompts people to attack cabal guardians to begin with needs to be done away with.

In a game like D&D if something is on the ethereal plane, you can't see or hear it.

Does telepathy stop, too? One could still reasonably assume a Necromancer can order his NPCs.

Can I see the log of one necro killing TWO Cabal guardians in a 30 second time span?
It isn't that I want to see this ability wimped, (I don't!) I just want to witness something that awesome.

This is a silly counter-argument, because in a game like SK, you can see and hear if someone is on the ethereal plane, and since SK is the game we're all playing...

Being a common occurrence is not an argument about game balance. Just because a person is exploiting a certain feature of the game so that they aren't really part of the battle anymore and just auto piloting while steam rolling through town, does not mean game balance should be looked at. Also, you failed to miss the point if you need to get ten paladins to deal with one necro. I still want to know how any solo class can stand up to a necromancer. Every class that can strip the necro of the ethereal will be dead before they can even truly start casting directly at him. Every class that should be able to tank the undead, die due to o all bas. I am personally willing to let this go, if someone can prove that a char not in a certain cabal can single handedly deal with a necro army.

Note, while having been steam rolled by necros in the past, I wasn't upset because until bash is fixed it will be the end all game mechanic.

If necromancer is such an OP class how come there aren't more of them? Why don't you make a necromancer and cause the change you wish to happen? Its happened to many other tactics in the past.

That said, lowering the maximum level of animates by a % wouldn't be a terribad idea. I do not think necromancers are killing the game. I have seen a single paladin chase off a necromancer (played by me) after destroying his army with one holy word. Is it something that is going to happen reliably? I don't know. Does it make paladins awesome? Yes. Does it make necromancers awesome? Hell yes.

Don't know if HW got nerfed since you played or you initiated combat with it, and even then o all bas should have stopped you. If the necro didn't at the time, they suck. Achernar... Have you ever seen the logs of me in solo pvp and win? There's a reason for that and I'm hella bad at it.

Necromancers are indeed an incredibly OP class, however they take a hell lot of preparation. Get a necro off-guard and he's ... undead meat.
