Too bad, jhlorleb, because priests shouldn't be able to heal or recall while prone.
And yes, that's what I'm arguing for. This gives a bit of a buff to adventuring classes as well and it helps knock the barbarian back down a huge notch (preventing spam bash against other melee)... and I don't see why characters shouldn't be able to switch stances while prone anyway.
I don't think anyone was suggesting that priests be able to heal or recall while prone. All that was said is that there should be *certain* skills or actions that can be done while prone.
For example:
Roll > You start to roll in order to evade attacks while prone, lowers weapon speed on your part but provides a buff to dodge.
You might get a skill called entanglement, which based on dexterity or strength (whichever is higher) helps to draw the offender down into prone state too
Or for the dirty fighters, throw dirt: rogue has a more accurate chance to throw dirt into the offender's face (since they're on the ground)
You might introduce a few new skills / spells:
Perhaps a casting class might get a spell called : Rebound > If cast while prone has a CHANCE of knocking the offender prone (or maybe lessens the down time, helps them back to their feet - and gives them a short period of time where they are immune to bashes - enough for spell casting)
Once or If you start considering weapon specializatiosn you could add things that have better chances of doing damage to prone characters, like a mace/hammer specialization : pound > could do more damage to prone characters.
