Aw man you're a jerk. I hope you come back with another. You've always been great to have around. Hianchi and Grelden were both two of my favorite characters ever. As for what happened, things have just changed a lot since you were playing religiously. Maybe the next one you make reflects the change you'd like to see in some of the playerbase so they have an example to learn from.

Aw, I had some fun with Twei! I was hoping to see more of him but never seemed to find the opportunity.

Good luck with your next!

but maybe too much subtlety is not the way to approach a matter as recruitment into a cabal.

I realize that you already said you weren't a leader at the time, and that you did recommend him for recruitment, but that statement right there really makes me mad. If a seeker is hinting at something and you think even for a moment that they might be interested, it is the job of the cabal to seek them out. Not the other way around.

MPT, maybe you are given the wrong impression, but Erindur is a char I've spent many hours playing with. Either aiding him in pve or simply roleplaying with him. I had even given him a short speech about the cruci, but yes, I expected a clear, definite response in the lines of "I want to join you" to begin the initiation process under the guidance of my leaders. Was my approach wrong, could I have done more? Maybe, but at the time that is how I decided to handle things IC given the circumstances and my lack of experience in cabal matters. Hopefully, I play and learn.

So, all in all, I take my duties in the cabal very seriously and I try to be courteous oocly. I've never neglected anyone, nor I've kept ppl awaiting for an answer for a prolonged time. I find grelden's reaction here to be a little unjustified.

I am about to post the faction induction policy into each of the individual faction forums, but just so that it's known, this isn't a matter to take lightly.

Repeated incidents of this nature, in which seekers are kept waiting for longer than the prescribed time, can result in a wipe of the entire faction's member list. Even if you're "just a member," your position within the organization is contingent on these rules being followed.

Nobody gets to simply wash their hands of responsibility by saying, "Oh, I wasn't a leader at the time."

No one was put on wait mode, Meissa. At least as far as Erindur is concerned. For one last time, he did not make clear to me that he wanted to join us. He did not approach anyone else of the cabal either, as far as I know, to express his desire to join us. My interpretation of his arpee was that he wanted to be affiliated with us, but not officially a member. I didn't think at the time to jump ooc to affirm that. That's all.

Close your eyes. Take deep breaths. Take a step back. Another deep breath. Open your eyes.

What are you doing? Arguing on what a cabal member should and shouldn't do, what a leader should and shouldn't do and if a member is at fault...

... in an Afterlife thread? Of a guy that said "Venthekymi it's your fault I wasn't inducted in the Crucie [during a time you were incapable to induct me] even though I was being crypting about it [self admitance] and I expected better from you"? It's blatantly obvious this is at least in part bandwagoning and accusing just the latest leader due to recent events.

1. This is Afterlife. Go make a Gameplay thread about induction policies, or GD if you'd like to flame and continue the discussion. Constructively.
2. Take things with a grain of salt. Lykofos mentioned she was new to cabals. Where's the oh-so-advertised OOC courtesy of the official game forums towards people that want to try something new? On her part, she should accept that there was more she could have done [she did] and will do better next time [she said so]. What of the other side? Just flames and pitchforks and warnings of cabal wipes?

Seriously... Just... Zen.

Another (unstated) rule about leadership is this: If you want your faction to be more than a footnote in your era of SK, recruit anyone and everyone that even remotely expresses the mildest of interest. If they don't like it, or end up not fitting properly, they'll delete or you'll remove them.
That's definitely an option, but on the other hand that can become a recipe for making your faction a laughingstock.

Sad to see you go, Twei, I was really liking the character: If it makes you feel any better, I'd have stuck you in the Black Hand pretty quickly.
