Don't worry about that mate. I mean we had an imm do that, you're just a puny mortal
Baldric's right about most of the complaints coming from before Eoghan's time but as they're never really substantiated I can't actually address them. Rubbish rumours like Reinald making an alliance with the MC for example that someone-not-Meissa posted on the log site (Tensarie formed that alliance and only for dealing with the demonchild GRP, Druids were involved in the plan as well, my character was always frustrated by that and knew this was going to bite him in the [REDACTED] and it did) or that Reinald pardoned or kept pardoning Cyndane which never happened either, Aurenna did that when I was semi-inactive for a while and it was mildly amusing to log in and be accused of pardoning enemies when Reinald was known to be an unforgiving jerk who never gave a pardon for anything ever -just ask Edoras about that. The list goes on and on.
I'd have loved it if people pointed out specific circumstances and said that hey, *that* was questionable/bad/irrational and at least gave me a chance to provide the reasoning or my side of the argument but instead I only see really amateurish trolling. Declaring war on Taslamar would be a great thing to mention as one of the mistakes this character has made. I was still as newbish as it gets back then, having to deal with leading a tribunal without any other faction members in it and I had a really strong MC come up and tell my character that since his sister is running around with Trolene attacking them he would be held responsible as well, so he would either have to declare war on Taslamar or get Zhenshi burned to ashes, in a smart indirect way. It was obviously a mistake but it seemed like he was caught between a rock and a hard place at the time and part of the reason I did that was because I didn't know yet that declaring war didn't give out an echo to everyone in the room.
But anyway, thanks for the kind words Jo, appreciated. I think people do not understand the RP challenges for a scrupulous pantheist in the Talons over a significant period of time which DojoJo is seeing now and that's why he's coming off as bit passionate. It can be unbelievably frustrating to be torn between the lightie hammerish jihad that claim Zhenshi as a "lightie kindgom", the more selfish-centered Harlequins and all sorts of darkies that need an advanced base of operations in Zhenshi while also protecting Zhensh citizens regardless of aura. That tribunal is probably unique in that respect and it would have been far more enjoyable to play in it if certain players avoided labelling a different playstyle than theirs as "wrong" or as a "breach of alignment".
I ultimately blame this on accumulated crud by previous generations of characters playing lighties and/or Talons. As a newbie I relied on the helpfiles to guide my playstyle (DojoJo is in the same boat as far as I know) so I was unburdened by all that which probably raised at least a part of the whining and QQ that goes on about my "greybie" character. Well, the wording of the scrupulous helpfile "..against evil-doers." might seem like semantics to people who play hammers and keepers in Taslamar (and who probably expect Talons to act in the exact same way as them) but it stops being semantics when you have a mixed aura'd population of player characters that you are obligated to protect by tribunal RP.
Great points on the alignment/multiple ways to play the light auras there. If something constructive can come out of an afterlife thread I think that is it.
