Don't fix it. Medium size is better for game balance.

Because it's not incredibly simple for a necro to make them giant again.

It's certainly not hard, but on the other hand, enlarge is not in their spell set. They need a friend or an item.

Taking away their auto haste and making them medium sized has put them on par with other controls. With the exception that these are the easiest to get in a pinch, which is fair since you have to do a moderately difficult quest to have access to them. All in all, well done Dalamar and good to see you around these parts still.

Just give them haste with a wand/pill/herb. They're extremely easy NPCs to get considering their potential firepower. Having to give them haste yourself doesn't seem like too much to ask.

I agree, it was a good debuff to remove their auto-haste. However, undead can't ingest anything, so the only way to ever buff undead is to cast spells on them.

Give necros a few bad [REDACTED] undead of epic proportions though. Make them unique and hard to get. It's soooooooo uninspiring that all necros run around with a bunch of the same undead.

I really miss staining my underwear from seeing a necromancer run around with the dracolich etc. But... there is the downside to that now I think of it. My mother doesn't wash my clothes anymore. I may have to rethink this post hmmm.

I could be wrong, but I thought greatswords would get you 2-3 attacks normal, and 3-4 with fury since their speed is on par with battle-axes.
Instead it is 1-2 normal and 2-3 with fury on the wights. I did testing with a hunting spear as well. Hunting spears I imagine should get you 4 without fury, but instead getting 3.

It is. Seems the perma-haste flag was removed from them. They're not slowed, they're just not hasted anymore without you doing it via wand/scroll/pc.

EDIT: Also, it's about damn time someone fixed those NPCs.

OA is correct. I removed their über haste.
And they will remain this way. They were stupid broken and overpowered for far too long.

The other speculation about changes to size are simply false.

An ominous-looking greatsword has been left here.
This greatsword is a medium-sized sword made of adamantite.

You give a matte black greatsword to a shadowy wight.

A shadowy wight wields a matte black greatsword in its hand.
Ok.

That sounds about right. You have finger of death for a reason. Perhaps relying on NPC zerg shouldn't be enough for an entire class to steamroll most anything solo?
