When I was a priest, I used to be pissed when people acted like I was a Healing sorcerer. People would ask me to "enchant" there EQ and I would make sure they knew I did not enchant anything, I "Blessed" items. I understand that the mechanics demand that it be the same spell, but the RP is still that priests abilities come from there god.

watching all these different posts about RP, I wanted to know if it would be possible to get people to RP that these spells come from different sources. A priest/Sorc/Warlock/shaman all get there powers from different sources, and it should be clear.

One of the awesome code updates within the past year did this.

Unless you mean that the player base needs to recognize that these are distinct spells/prayers now... In which case, I think it will just be a matter of time for the players to adapt.

Yeah I've met people who tell me that they consecrate and don't enchant as if they didn't understand what I meant. *shrugs* Try not to let it bother you though. The consecration/enchant separation is still fairly new to some people.

A variation on the echo for casting depending on class would be cool. Like, "XX starts to pray." for priest, instead of "...starts to concentrate. "...starts to chant." for shaman. A code check for class to determine which line to use? And at the actualization, instead of "XX utters the words, '<place rune-word here>'", do "XX completes his/her prayer" (or chant), or something.

I do think a code change like this would help, would it be difficult? i don't know anything about code work

Not a big fan of this sort of change, if it is going to alter the starts to concentrate echo. There is already a lot of clutter and scroll spam in combat - not sure there needs to be three or four different casting echos to add to the confusion.
