Healers need a weapon they can hit people with to restore their hitpoints to make better use of their melee attack. Sadr followers get double health back when smacked with such a stick.

Warlocks don't even have the scrolls skill. Adding scribe makes no sense for them.

I like the split between scribing classes and brewing classes.

Well how about a compromise? Instead of giving Warlocks scribe, just extend off their ability to brew. Aside from creation beneficial potions, allow them to make harmful ones from a select few spells in their list. Then allow them to chuck said vials at opponents... or allies.... And watch the fireworks!

This is actually an intriguing idea. If anyone has played minecraft, this would be like brewing a potion with gun powder. I like it.

How many warlock spells would be scribe eligible? How many are brew eligible? It would seem that giving the warlock a choice between the two wouldn't exactly ruin anything. Scrolls of conjure elemental might be interesting to see and playtest.

On a broader note, why is scribe allowed to make both exclusive and targeted (e.g. etherealform and petrification) while brew can only make personal spells? Scribe is more flexible than brew, and it in fact does everything brew can. It's just a matter of spell availability, not skill availability. The split between them comes more from what spells scribes don't have access to than anything else.

Giving it to Light-armor priests and warlocks. Discuss.

In all seriousness though, I just don't think this is necessary. Some people think warlocks need a buff, and maybe they're right (I have no idea, I haven't played one in years), but giving them the ability to scribe wouldn't make them any better. If anything, it would strip them of their uniqueness.

And besides, I like thinking of warlocks as wielders of raw and primal power, something so intense that words or runes couldn't adequately portray it, no matter how eloquent.

On the matter of priests.. Eh. They have brew. Most of their spells that are useful to others can be brewed, and the ones that I'm sure you have in mind for scrolls (holy word, rez, raise dead) are powers that only a skilled priest (or in the last case, a shaman) should be able to wield. That kind of power shouldn't be contained to a scroll, either. Even though I think one of those spells is in a scroll somewhere.. I just don't think scrolls like that should become commonly accessible items.

I was thinking more along the lines of priests scribing for themselves, not for others. I would probably look down upon a priest that sold the holy word of his/her God to others. But good point.
