Dex modded up to 19 with herbs. 56 shots fired 24 misses in pk against a sorc. That just doesn't seem right.

My sorc has more dex than you and better defensive buffs than most players. You still did 20+ percent per round. Not sure what you expect - buff better if you want to be even more effective than that.

I would hope it would do that damage to a caster class getting a full round of hits, but there were instances where I would miss every shot per round, and when you factor in the misses, it would be around 10 hp per round. Rapid shot needs an accuracy bonus or something, otherwise the class just isn't worth playing aside from gathering herbs for allies.

Especially since a merc is better with bows than a scout, I agree and have argued for it, but was told that since they have herbalism/skinning it is alright for them to suck donkey's butt with ranged attacks vs a merc.

You're over-simplifying the factors that go into making a successful ranged-based character by an order of magnitude.

Bow-type matters, arrow-type matters, enchants matter, offensive buffs matter, defensive buffs matter, both shooter and target dex matters, shooter and target stance matters, size matters (no matter what you've heard), wind strength matters a ton. It seems like you just want to be able to type "shoot s dewd" and be an ace marksman. It just doesn't work like that.

I don't know what you're talking about dude. My elf merc that I have always worn heavy armor with while skirmishing has had about 0 problems hitting the target. It's only if they're clad in heavy or light armor that it starts to matter.

I don't think he mentioned anything about wearing heavy armor mattering as to the accuracy of the merc.

Scouts need something similar to finesse for swashbucklers.
Did some tests vs heavy armor. Absolutely no wind.
Avg damage per arrow:
Target mood aggressive, no shield. 3.71
Target mood aggressive with shield 2.28
Target mood defensive with shield 0.63

Turrible turrible.
