As with every change, you can always give feedback and should be prepared for possible tweaks.

It might not be all bad. NPCs might follow these new rules, too... maybe we'll see fewer villagers carrying 30 throwing spears around.

Except they don't carry them. They spawn them on-throw.

This is a long overdue fix to an exploit, several fixes in fact.

I doubt the question of ranged weaponry cluttering up your inventory will cause you to be unable to move. Any ammo expended on a character that already had a full inventory was already discarded to the ground.

Also, if your inventory is full and you rem all, will you not be able to remove anything?

Missed this earlier. I didn't change remove, so if you could do that before, you still can. In which case you won't be able to move until you wear or drop enough gear. But this doesn't seem to me to be as big of a problem. You will rarely be desiring to remove all your gear during combat.

Instead of trying it out in game, I'll mention it here:

If a character gets all.heal cloak from a theoretically infinite supply of heal vials, all I need to do to secure hilariousness is cast shrink once on that character, right?

This is a pretty terrible change, particularly given how thrown objects and ranged combat function. Also a major pain in the rear for scouts and any ranged-spec merc.

Both of these specific objections would be solved by making arrows either not count towards your inventory, or count for less.

It makes sense that if you can only carry 12 items, you can't "get all" from your backpack and carry 100 items. But it definitely will be an inconvenience for everyone who is used to be being able to quickly transfer a bunch of items from one container to another, or who wants to drop all 50 of their mistletoe on the ground or whatever.

If you have 2 slots open in your inventory and type "get all.heal back," I hope you don't get an error message, though. You should get two heals from your backpack.

Get all is an iterative function, so you'll start getting error messages when you hit the limit.

This might also be interesting for disarming characters who have an inventory full of, say, heal vials. Under the logic ardith pointed out, being disarmed partially would still result in the item being dropped on the floor.

However, if that were strictly true, your character would never be in a situation where she could be over her item limit, so Dulrik's notes about how that condition functions would seem to imply that there are various and sundry ways to be put over your item limit. That might be one of them, as is remove all, and perhaps shrinking.
