Sorcerers still have giant strength, and haste to buff warriors with, the armor and shield spell, and sleep.
I will say, and this is mostly a warlock gripe though that the immunities of high end NPCs needs reviewed. When I did roll a warlock once I got greatly discouraged that my main single target damage spell, magma spray, did not work in places like the Wastelands. If that could be moved to resistance instead, that'd be great.
True, again I didn't say sorcs are useles in parties, and in all honesty in many situations there's a lot more you can do. Just being able to petrify things in most trips is a huge help until you run out of mana.
However, if you put WoW-like damage meters/kill meters/healing meters etc in groups and measure them, sorcs will usually end up at the bottom of all those lists in a PvE trip.
And seriously you know this better than me, nobody needs a sorceror for those buffs. Sleep is good though.
I'm not complaining that sorcerors need a buff, the class does a lot of things other classes can't really dream of, but for me right now it's much more interesting to do things solo rather than join a party, since I don't really feel I'm contributing in one, in a lot of cases. I think that's worth at least considering.
