LT sounds to me like it should factor in hours played too. Just sayin, if you want people to stick logged into sk, that's a nice little lure

I like this idea. Positive reinforcement > negative reinforcement.

I don't hand out rewards just for existing. If you can come up with a metric that shows a positive contribution (not just standing in line for a handout), I would at least consider it.

Use your horde code rules, more or less. Staying in inns: More lp. STaying in wilderness, less LP or no LP.

Then increase LP costs accordingly since everyone is now just making more lt.

Those are my thoughts.

Let's think of this in terms of natural consequences. If you've earned loyal tokens, you know how to contribute to the game. If you're spending a lot of time on a particular character, chances are it is either a main who is involved in the game, an alt you are plvling, or something you made to sleep around on.

In all of these scenarios, the simple property of being on the who list is a necessary but insufficient condition to actually playing the game. So what do you do? You promote the necessary condition while still requiring the sufficient one.

Being in the top ___% of monthly hours on a character would not reward that character with loyalty tokens, but it would allow that character to spend a certain number of tokens earned but, for one reason or another, not eligible for use on that character. In other words, if you meet some hourly limit, your reward is the ability to tap into rewards you've earned for other successful behaviors but are currently unable to spend on your "main" character.

You could make a list of "daily" quests. But they could be more like monthly quests. If you make it to a certain room in ToM, achievement earned. If you kill radi, achievement earned. If you send a certain number of says or tells to pc's, achievement earned. For every ten achievements, you earn a LT. Achievements are reset at the monthly reboot.

I'm sure the community could think of quite a few achievements that we could implement.
Anyone like this idea?

The number of tells a character sends does not necessarily equate to the quality of his or her roleplay, nor do hours logged in a public location. I also feel like low-level characters are as capable of adding value to the game as are grandmasters, so I'd hesitate to tie LT into specific PvE events, too.

However, to address the idea that players can't always log, I could get behind a feature that allows people to give an endorsement of characters they see doing exceptional roleplay. X-number of endorsements might automatically result in an enlight and its subsequent LT. Of course, I haven't the slightest clue how hard this would be to code; and I can't promise it would happen, but it might spread out the judgment of roleplay quality if we give everyone a say with, perhaps, a once-weekly endorsement.

When I read the idea it did not sound like it was LT for every 50 hours online it is basically 1 LT for avoiding Hoarder flag/logging enough hours to keep par etc. Per month does not sound like a good way to build LT. It is simply a small nod to people who are playing the game. AKA play the game show your loyalty.

How about letting tokens give you the chance to move to Chyzzrm or other places as a home kingdom?
