I propose that reaching weapons be able to use disarm and blitzkrieg, though perhaps with a penalty to success rate while reaching.

Massive no on disarm. For a number of reasons, primarily because it'd be yet another nerf to the ability of PCs to tank and a huge buff to what has become the standard play style of SK, stand behind guards and try to kill the other group's guards first.

I debate the notion that this has become the standard playstyle, but I guess I can see reasons that people would play like that in some situations.

How about blitzkrieg? It's already a joke skill, maybe giving it to reaching weapons would make it less useless.

A better buff to blitzkrieg would be that it hits the entire front row of an enemy formation, not just the ones attacking the merc. Unless thats been changed and it does now? lol

Moreso however; make it usable by a certain range of weapons, not just ones with "slash" attacks. Just because a sword is hitting with "divine wrath" or "flaming bite" doesn't mean that the merc isn't slashing with it still.

Blitz should be a key skill for a merc being their top tier ability. But I also wouldnt want to make a powerful class more powerful also.

What if it was a overhauled. Change being prone so it doesn't reset stance and change blitz to a targeted attack that does weapon damage and resets stance. It would fit the name better and give mercs a reason to not focus on bash bash bash

It'll remain a joke. No real way to utilize the skill with the weapon restrictions, restrictions to the skill itself, bash spam, and the general short lived length of combat. Though find a place with a ton of low level aggressive NPCs and look stylish as you kill them all with it!

The skill would in my opinion would be best removed and replaced with something of a utility nature, or defensive.

I don't always agree with the player community when it says that XYZ is useless. I've been doing pretty well with kick, generally more in PvE than PvP, but it has a place in PvP, generally as a 'just %#%# die already' mechanism in the 'some awful wounds' and 'pretty hurt' phase when disarm and stuff wouldn't be a great investment.

My comparisons so far tell me that kick is actually more efficient than blitz against a single target in terms of trading lag for physical damage, though I haven't been scientific in making that observation. I observed that with the glaive, anyway.

The only situation in which I could see using blitz, with the game the way it currently is, is with a greatsword or claymore spec or something like that. I'm sure that that retired greataxe spec Imperial dwarf could have had some fun with it. The fact that that was a ridiculous spec underlines why blitz doesn't work. The whole basis of the ability as a 'splash damage' mechanism is precisely why it's kind of silly. Front row PvP is mostly about pounding through a singular target.

Really though, it comes down to the fact that the only viable situation for blitzkrieg would be in someone with a front row two hander spec, which generally isn't thought to be advisable, since if you want to fight like that, you probably should have just rolled a barb.

lulz blitz and kick r both terrible in pk

even in the situations u mentioned ur better off not lagging urself, so that you can time a trip/bash

I can bash someone, kick them, and then bash them again. In fact, I can usually kick them twice and still bash them again. It's actually one of the faster things that lets you do something useful and not miss the next bash.
