Scaled defenders: I knew that guards were scaled based on attackers. I didn't know that it was scaled based on defenders online. Perhaps tweaking the scale would have beneficial when the player counts were higher. Now, it almost seems like a moot point. Almost any relic grab is gonna be a ninja gank.

As for cabal gate: thinking back, I think the occasion that I'm remembering, i reincarnated after the defense of the outer. Was trying to rest up when the alert that the inner is under attack sounded. I felt obligated to get back in at that moment. That's probably where my confusion came from.
Probably not a bug.

My question is this:
What was CRS implemented to promote? And how do we utilize a different system to promote what CRS failed to promote?
I assume it was implements to promote PvP as well as a measurable scale of who was winning wars, right?

The current crs design has always favored those with larger numbers. Maybe this will prevent players from quitting and re-rolling.

It really doesnt make any sense that before you can fight someone effectively at full cabal power strength, you must first form a large enough group and ninja it back without powers OR accept terms of surrender which means even after you get it back, there will be no PK and you will therefore be bored.

Rich get richer and the poor get poorer. I get that.
So how do you incentivize taking a relic without making the poor get poorer?

CRS was implemented as a way to allow there to be a clear winner or loser in a PK war.

The primary problem with its implementation, however, is that it devolved into a bunch of NPC combat, offline relic ganking and territory defending when certain cabal and classes were immensely favored in that realm. Good luck trying to kill an outer guardian with an online warlock on the other side, and good luck trying to kill the spawned guards in less than a year without a warlock on your own side, and good luck trying to kill an inner guardian with 3-4 relics with a bunch of hellions and paladins and no warlock to spam healing rays. Also, you're insane if you ever try to attack the druids, MC or Harlies without a shaman or sorcerer to spam dispel.

It also completely neutered any individual design that the cabals themselves had by converting all of the headquarters into square CTF maps.

In recent history with the lower playerbase, those problems were exacerbated, and added to them was the problem that the upkeep costs for maintaining wars posed a burden on the few players who remained.

CRS went through multiple changes because the playerbase didn't like it for a long time, and it needed to be removed for now. It's fine to have a measurable way to determine who's winning in a PK war, but many aspects of the implementation simply failed to hold up to their end up the bargain.

Since most of the vets are gone, and we're trying to attract new players (especially into actually trying cabals) I agree that it does buff the nubs, but I'd say it's sort of a good thing. It does promote people to actually roll a cabal, knowing that they actually get to use their abilities. Yeah, it's a soft move, but it is what it is.
