So this is an idea I had a while back and I've been chewing it over the last couple weeks and I still like it so I'm going to throw it out (again? I don't remember if I've ever suggested this on the forums before.)

Multiclassing with LTs.

Now, I'm not talking about full-on multiclassing, or opening class-unique spells and skills up for grabs, but having the option to customize your skills/spells set a little would be pretty sweet and add an interesting tactical element to character growth.

How it would work:

Let's say BillyBobThornton has 150 LTs stocked up because he was a pretty good guy and got a lot of enlights and was a leader for a while. BillyBobThornton is rolling a new character, but none of the LT class/race options are really exciting to him, so now he's sitting on all these LTs with relatively few to no interesting options to spend them on.

But wait! BillyBobThornton's merc sticks around for a while because he decides he likes the RP of the character and is finding the class to be competitive. Even though that's the case, he doesn't really have any options for differentiating himself from other mercs (because, let's face it, spec variance is rare and doesn't really happen because there's only a few "optimal" specs.) But BillyBobThornton wants to have something unique. So he hits redeem and sees on the list Multiclass Options. So he types Redeem Multiclass and a list of spells and skills not normally available to mercenaries comes up for him to choose from, with costs ranging from 20-100 LTs to buy.

These skills/spells would keep "unique class spells and skills" off the list. So Heal wouldn't be available, but Cure Light up to Cure Critical would be. Berserk and Fury and Spec would be kept off the list, but if someone wanted to play a more martially-oriented paladin or hellion they could buy Fourth Attack. Herbalism and Skin wouldn't be available, but fletching might be. I'd probably suggest a lot of utility skills and spells be kept off (like enchants/consecrates) but even those might be worth considering being available at the higher end of costs.

Cost could be ranked by general potency of the given skill/spell, or else by level of the skill/spell, and all multiclassed skills and spells would be slotted at Master rank for the multiclassed character. It's even reasonable to restrict multiclassing to after the first age-tick to represent an expanding understanding of how other classes do what they do. I'd also suggest not allowing more than 1-2 multiclassed skills or spells.

I have a semi-exhaustive list of options I think would be ideal that I could post if there were any interest in hashing this out at all.

Not a bad idea. Not a bad idea at all.

Maaan! I brought this idea up months ago.
It's a good idea though. I support it.
