Does anyone really enjoy global rps? They always seem the same to me "oh noz there is an insect infestation; oh no now there are demons; etc.

You'd [REDACTED] if they actually AFFECTED your character, which you would have a right to. The "global RP" that governed the Adepts was what was truly to blame for their demise, not Aerlyn, not Sinnoch. The utter impossibility of the success of their "goal" and the fact that every single other faction would be [REDACTED] to help or even allow them to.

What do you propose as a non-charcater-intrusive solution or alternative? Or did you really just come to QQ? They really can't make much hinge on the global RPs, because it forces everyone's hands, makes them unhappy, and causes deletions, hanging plot lines, and the like. Besides, affecting certain individuals or groups would have everyone shouting "ZOMG IMM FAVORITISM!"

Suggestions. Go.

Eusd just has sand in his vaginé because he had to leave ToM to go save the world. Or that's what I see...

I just don't like the fact that it feels like i'm being pushed to RP with everyone. And it is always the same global rp and lot of ____(insert animal or being here) over running __(insert country/place here). That is just to my experience in sk.

This is a rather foolish poll. There have been some global RPs that I absolutely loved, and some that were boring (mainly because my character had nothing to do with them) and a rare few that I thought were dumb. I can't possibly say "Global RPz are all bad, mmkay?" or "OMG global RPz are all wtfpwn!11!" because each one is different.

Either way, I'm always for the IMMs trying to do something fun and interesting (even if they fail every now and then). I was sad that my character had no idea what was going on, but oh well. Hopefully she'll be able to figure it out next time.

So in short: Eusd stop being silly. If you don't like GRP, don't participate.

Please post ideas for types of global RPs that would be interesting to you.

We tried to have multiple kinds of RP events over the weekend. We had one arena battle (which we even had a few lowbies particpate in) and then we had a stop the invasion type of event. I don't know all the details about how that turned out, but I believe it was successful.

There was a lot of roleplaying that happened both between player characters and with immortal-animated NPCs during these events. Keep in mind that at least half of what happens during these events is what YOU guys make of it. This is your chance to see and talk to a lot of characters that you would otherwise have to kill on sight.

It was widely rumored that Emperor Slayne would make a rare apperance during the gladiatorial games. There was a chance there for people to take some initiative and alternately RP with him for diplomatic reasons or assassinate him. Nothing happened, so apparently these possibilities never occurred to anyone, or they thought them impossible. We are trying to be flexible during these events, so get imaginative!

Again, please post new types of events that you would like to see. Thanks!

I like all forms of Global rp. Mainly because it makes you think for a second that you might be able to change the Sk world. Sadly this is not the case. It seems like theres always some massive world changing event taking place, and then afterwards nothing has changed. I wish we could have global rps that actually ended with main cities being destroyed, and kingdoms conquering other kingdoms.

As obnoxious as the Inevitable QQ Hailstorm Effect that follows anything that makes even a MEDIUM-sized dent in the game[world/play] can be... well, that pretty much just comes with the territory around here, and I still feel basically the same way at heart that you describe here. I also wish massive changes were possible on a more frequent basis to reinforce the feeling of a living, fluid gameworld. And when time and energy permit, we do try to do what we can up here in that regard; it's just hard to rustle up enough man-hours to make something really really Big and Epic (a) go smoothly, (b) be at least vaguely comprehensible and fun to more than a tiny handful of people, and (c) not seem utterly trite. Especially if large chunks of code are going to have to be involved for Certain Ideas not to feel superficial. ;)

As a certain someone stated already, PMs/emails/logs relating to things you'd like to see happen, or just ideas to brainstorm, are always welcome. In spite of time constraints, I know I for one think over and try and appreciate most everything that's submitted to me, at the very least.

That's true. It'd be nice to have something as simple as legionaires coming into Exile and attacking, or vice versa. It'd at least help break the illusion of stagnancy.
