Is this new tendency for summoned npc's to walk off thus making it impossible to create gate targets a new 'feature'?

If so I would like to question the usefulness of the summon spell in the game, when not involving PC's.

This change was made to remove gate anchors from the game. The thread where the modification was mentioned contains a whole slew of arguments over it.

But while this is open, can we please get summoned NPCs to be on their own (1-5) tick timer, instead of the room timer?

Edit: The reason I ask for more than 1 tick, is so that NPCs still have valid in-game uses and can be used in both RP and PK... I really don't think asking for 5 ticks is too much.

I'm on board with the put NPCs on their own timer.

While summoning someone to charm I couldn't get charm off fast enough, even having it chained together, after multiple attempts before my potential new buddy would walk off leaving me dejected and alone. :-(

You should wait until the tick happens, then summon. That will give you roughly 60 seconds to summon and charm, and as long as summon doesn't fail more than once, that should be plenty of time.

I must admit though, having them on their own timer would be nice (Or making them last for two ticks if possible), considering that such a change has made summon charming and the like very non-newbie friendly.

I summoned one of my own GUARDS and got him to cast a spell and he walked off, dropping the spells. My OWN guard.

That was a bit irritating that I can't summon my own guard, in my own kingdom, to ask him to cast a spell, without having him walk off and drop the spells.

Are you [REDACTED] kidding me? No ticks even passed, look at my mana it didn't regen after the summons. That went on four more times before I got a pet and chained 'c summon waish;o all kill waish;c charm waish'

Please tell me this is not by design!

It is by design. Instead of the Imm's fixing the real problem, by taking away summon from Trib guards and cursing the people that where abusing it. He decided to take one of the more useful spells in the game and turn it to utter crap making it just about as useful as detect poison.
