If necros can only carry 8 animates, I think it's time for them to get shrink and enlarge, or bring back the mephit.

Does this mean I will be able to make 8 wraiths, wand them up with buffs, log off at Sith'a'niel inn, and wait for someone to log in?

Unless something has changed with regards to releasing spells, no... you'll release control / animate when you log out, and be completely unguarded in the inn when you return.


Really, the whole "retain your pet" code seems to only affect scouts and warlocks right now.

If you're logged off, how will you know when someone else logs in?

As a side note, I believe that when charm is released from a NPC (whether they're released or charm is lost through attacking them or having them cancelled) that they remove and drop everything. This may have been intended, but it does happen.

Also, as someone has already mentioned, I believe that the reason you lose a charm when logging off is that you release all your spells beforehand.

A Lavish Hall
The upstairs hall is much akin to the entry hall in the aspect of
construction. The lower half of the walls are paneled, while the upper
portion is laid with a textured wallpaper. A thin maroon rug runs the
length of the hall, kept clean by the employees of this establishment.
Above each doorway has been hung the inn's emblem, a crescent moon, against
a pitch black backdrop.

Well, he said animates, that means a delf necro can now hold 8 of the wraiths, and will be forced to use two controls, which can be just as damaging.

Please bring back the mephit, yes. I'm a little sad at the necro change, and while it was probably necessary, it makes necros even more weak to walk into a holy word now.. necros now have NO chance against paladins or lightie priests.

Necros get some sort of offset to being set down to 8 controls? Quite frankly the wraiths are on'y good against unskilled people and only by their number, they are easily dispelled/bolted/holy worded. Kind of a kick in the nuts to a class that relies completely on their animates.
