I'll agree that they can get enchanted well and be immune to spells, but I'm still going to disagree that all this enchanting and brewing and scribing is 'just a little prep time'. It isn't. It's a serious time commitment that can be easily erased because of how easy a bard can be to kill.
I hate to be so blunt with you, and border on being rude, but you're wrong with these points. Just plain wrong.
