Getting every malediction in the game is useless except against outer guardians and some end-level PvE bosses. Other than that you should either be casting fear, sleep, dispel magic, -maybe- curse, reciting scrolls, or zapping wands. If you have the time as a necro to cast a stupid spell like slow, poison or plague, you probably already won the fight. (Or lost it because you're stupid and cast a panic spell)

Either you missed the self-deprecating humor in my quote, or just like restating things.

I just like pointing out that you're stupid, I guess.

But in all seriousness, you said that you couldn't have won this fight. But you cast a really stupid spell, if you would have cast something useful. Or recited/brandished something useful then you could have easily won that.

Mundy, you missed my point entirely. The point is if someone who clearly has an amazing grasp on the game and knows where to find the particular devices to be amazing plays a class well, I don't think it translates to the class NECESSARILY being balanced.

An extremely large factor in how good a class or character is perceived is also the skill level of their opponents.

Also, strawmanning and red-herring aren't exactly good techniques to get your point across.

Simply because someone over two years ago played a necromancer and out of it had only about 20-25 total fights (only 16 of which were logged) does not mean that the class is underpowered, overpowered, or balanced.

Along with that tangent: anyone ever notice the community is very prone to aspergerish spouts of irrational opinions/name calling/general malfeasance towards each other at the drop of a hat? Just a game, brah, be chill.

That could be said about any class.

If you dont know how to play the class, know where the good things are, and how to use them then you're not going to be very successful in pvp. Having a good grasp of your characters class is also a good key to winning pvp.

It doesn't take much for a necro to be powerful. Get a large army of undead, give them weapons, give them buffs and let them do work.

Get a few controls, give them weapons and buffs, add a few undead to it and let them do work.

(Having things like FoD/petrification/fear scrolls help. As well as sleep staves. Theres tons of OP'd wands.)

They do take a bit of prep, likely more than anyone else, but that doesn't make them bad. If you dont prep right, the results will show that.

You're tripping, bro. My comment was obviously not serious about Edoras.
