Okay, there are a ton of items that require lore in the game. It's one of the uniquely frustrating aspects of having phased bards in well after the game had been established, and we're happy to work it in wherever possible.

However, I was playing around in some of my areas this morning and discovered that there are quite a few items that -do- have lore that is not properly formatted. If you play a bard and notice a blank line or two between the standard attributes of an item when you lore it, please typo log the item in the area in which you found it. That means that there actually is a lore file on the item; the mistake in formatting is very easy to make and very easy to fix. Logging these when you see them will help us reveal lost lore more expediently!

Also, anyone can feel free to continue typo-logging items that don't (but should) have lore.

Thanks!

If you have items with lore that specifically states they should do things with a specific keyword and they don't, should you typo that or PM the KD so the lore can be removed or the item fixed?

Either will work in theory, though a typo log stays in the KD's queue until it is sorted, whereas emails can be lost in the shuffle of the great volume of communication that hits our inboxes.

Do typo logs need to be done in the room the stuff is from?

Ideally, they would be at least in the same area as the game does mark specifically where the typo/bug report is made; however, if you are specific in your explanation, we can figure it out wherever you log it.

I'm of the opinion that not everything should have a lore file filled out.

I mean, does the box of crackers next to me require a story to it?

"Well you see, Billy Joe finished packaging this box near the end of his 9-5 shift..."

Yeah, whatever. Lore should be saved for items that deserve it.

There are plenty of items that don't have lore that should. Nowhere in any of my posts did I suggest that EVERYTHING should have lore.

I've been seeing items that actually do things (hide, make gates) without lore. I mean, man.

I think even can get items from shopkeepers deserve a simple lore. Such as, this sword was crafted by a blacksmith in teron. or something that can indicate where is we was purchased. That this only goes for shop origin things.
