To me, this just looks bad. For somebody making their first visit to our Mud, it just suggests inattention, which isn't a fair first impression.

Solution.
Either cut the necessary line or two out of the MOTD, or extend the default scroll setting to the necessary number of lines. Very few people (or so I would guess) still use the default 24 lines that came with the original character based operating systems.
