As to you, tanxia, I wasn't flaming in my post. I didn't call him an idiot (except by implication perhaps), I didn't suggest that I was made any dumber by his post - though I did point out a few flaws in it, and I did so in a healthy manner.

As for how you can get dirt into someone's eyes while mounted, if you're in soft ground dirt is going to get kicked up by a horse's hoof. From there you could swing a foot out of the stirrup. You might have collected dirt earlier, you might jump down from your horse, kick the dirt, and jump back up. Any number of things.

Unless of course you're suggesting that in SKs, battle isn't fluid, and the opponents stand there while one hits the other four times, then the second take his turn. I'm a little surprised that so many people here have demonstrated that they have little beyond the most rudimentary imaginations. I always thought muds attracted the creative elite - I'm surprised and a little disappointed to have been proven wrong.

Yeah, let's make things tougher for warriors by making it so that they can only dirt kick in rooms where you can bury things. So now you're flying and can't dirt kick, mounted and can't trip, let's see... They can't use many skills when they're missing a leg, and can't do anything if they're missing a weapon arm. Mages don't have those features, so let's make it more realistic. They will instantly lose concentration when they get melee hits in the head! YEAH that'll be so much fun!

I assume there's sawdust in a lot of indoors places to soak up the blood of grisly adventurer types that wander through.

Little-known sidefact, many taverns and shops up until the later renaissance had layers of sawdust on their floors to soak up blood, as well as water from leaky roofs.

I was just making a point. It's a completely unrealistic skill. I wasn't suggesting a change at all.

Sorry to disappoint you, malena, but your comment about being able to dirt kick inside was not the subject of my mockery. It's just that I'm quite sick of seeing people want to wimp other classes in order to make their own characters more powerful. Right now dirt kick remains the most commonly used and effective skill for fighters against casting mages. It does not need to be changed based on the reasoning of 'more realism', which only suits some arguments. We then see the same people want an uber skill or spell based on the fact that it will be 'more magical'. Blah blah blah blah from me.
