Why? I don't understand your logic here at all. So you can go to a Magistrate and tell him that someone tossed magma or magic missiles or took away your free will (a.k.a. charm) but Voodoo….no that is just ridiculous? How does that logic work? Why should one spell not be reportable by the victim when every other spell is? Oh, is it because they can't see them? Well do I need to remind you of this…

Code:
You receive a vision of your tormentor...

The code gives you this, which is more then what it gives when someone casting lightning bolt at you from three rooms away. Now, I'm not arguing that voodoo should be this way or that. But Demon your flame just doesn't make sense.

My question is where is the crime... where the caster casted the spell, or were the victim is. But it should probably be a crime now that you can tell who directed the spirits against you... before when you didnt have a clue, then sure, you had no idea who to blame.

...just like you can go to the magistrate and say

"OH MY GOD DUDE OUTLAW THIS MAN HE JUST SENT A HOARDE OF CHARMIES/UNDEAD/PETS AND ROCKED MY WORLD!"

and the magistrate will not slap you nor will tell you to go away. As we know, one will be outlawed, even if he recalls/teleports/just leaves that area before the charmies/undead/pets "rock your world".

PS: And before you bring me the argument that it is just spirits and how bad they can be I can assure you that you will be reported if you kill someone with a spirit horde(sounds like your original argument huh? :P) or with the damage that spirit aura returns.
PPS: As a funny addition and about what grelden said, if a GM 14 art necro can't summon a veteran to master lvl griffon then art and summon are not overpowered :P Especially since I spam using summon on all the Ironclaws, like I am the only one that has that spell in SK.

You know full well you've used it on us. Simple point: You spam summoned us before we voodoo'd you. Simple to understand, and simple to understand consequences.

And as it happens, since barely after creation, I've had >15 willpower even on my griffon, because I happen to worship at the altar of willpower. I also have camo, which is >> summon, and I also know the no-transport rooms of most areas on the mud.

This (and a lil luck) is why I haven't been summoned yet.

Not that you knew that before you tried honey.

<3

You'll also notice that I personally have actually stated (a far more powerful argument for you surely) that summon doesnt need to be changed IMHO, it's just people need to stop acting like gimps in their use of it.

Please excuse me if that seems directed at you particularly, cause I'd hate to be accused of flaming in this thread.

P.S. To stay on topic I think any argument that laws can be ignored because magistrates wouldn't believe people had been attacked by spirits in the fantasy world is weak. *kills self for once more agreeing with the worst thing to happen to the mud in years(IMHO)*

Ok, good point there. So, Zalthania was very finely voodooed for having been in PK with other Hammerites. Hmm... I remember a case of a fistie Griffon, who was hmmm punished or warned (don't remember well which of the two) for having voodooed a sorcie of the Adepts while there had been fights between said griffon and Adepts. Anyway, no need to say more, I give up to your... kindness and stable ways...

Now, back to the topic:

In cases you cast a range spell (eg: fireball) you get outlawed both in the room you are (if a law NPC sees you) and in the room the victim is. Shouldn't it be the same for Voodoo?

I never understood why voodoo doesn't get you outlawed in the place that you attack a person. If anything it's screwed up that you get outlawed in the place that you are voodooing from.

Anyway, it's not likely that you're going to get outlawed in two places for voodooing somebody unless you are completely [REDACTED].

You just have to look at it how it really is. You -attempted murder- on -Zalthania- in -Krychire-. And while I'm loathe to take Dark-Avenger's side because I think he's a gimp, I'd have to say that it is a bug. Well maybe not really a bug just an oversight as to how voodoo works. Though maybe Dulrik hates you and wants it to work in this way, which is perfectly fine since it's his game.

im going to say this once, and its my honest opinion. I don't care who you are, or what you've done on this mud. I think triggers that in anyway effect you living or dying under any circumstance are cheating and should be punished. I don't care what your reason is, I don't care how cheap of a tactice was used against you. If you use a trigger to think for you, It hink you should be deleted or at least cursed. i hate triggers with a passion, im here to pit my skills against yours, not my trigger writing abilities against yours. thankyou, that is all

If this is against me Cannibal, surely, let's pit our skills. But since you want a fair playfield, give me a DSL/cable/T1/whatever internet connection you have and not my crappy 56k PSTN modem(that never connects at a speed over 44k due to my ISP/phone line) nor packages that need to hop to 30+ servers(since I am greek) before they reach vividnet's server. And if you give me lag below 300 ms(I usually have a good 1+ sec of lag as I have seen from some pings/traceroutes) we will pit our skills.
