Shattered Kingdoms

A certain item in the game casts spell ward, but it appears that it can be resisted, despite being a 'self cast' spell. I noticed that this can happen on staves/wands too, for spells like etherealform that are self-cast.

Just figured it was worth asking: is this a bug or intentional function on magical devices?

Ever since the change to self-cast spells, you can resist all (i.e. even these) spells from items. You still won't resist the spells if you cast them yourself.

Not a bug, but a feature, unfortunately.

I believe it also scrolls and staves will fail in the same way. I remember reading somewhere that that’s how it works. Self spell stuff is only for spells Cast by the caster that can not be used to target anyone else.

Yup, you resist scrolls the same, specially the expensive ones or the ones that took three dozen scrolls to scribe cause you got jacked by the rolls.... on topic: Does art reduce the resists to the mentioned 'self-spells' by items?

Why do people keep asking this?

You'd think by now that it'd be beaten into your head that magical resistance (MR) is unaffected by art.

Not a bug. That's how it was intended.
