A Kytar University Instructor tells you 'Fagan is looking for a mentor.'

> t fagan Greetings young one, do you require aid?
They are not receiving tells.

There should be some form of notification if you use mentor and are in quiet mode, he is probably wondering why on earth he isn't helped.

Since they had to type 'quiet' in order to go into quiet mode, I expect they are not as unused to SK as they may have stated during creation...

Doesn't that mentor message come after they have specifically requested a mentor?

Also, the word "quiet" is an easy one for a newbie to type accidentally. Its not far from "quit," and it sort of sounds like it might be a social.

If you get a mentor request, chances are it came from a limited number of areas in relative to your character. If you are nearby, sometimes its easy to recognize which person has requested assistance.

I accidentally hit quiet mode all of the time. Simply happens when I get to typing too fast and hit the wrong key by mistake, it really isn't that hard to do. I've also had instances where I've typed 'me' in place of 'ne' and accidentally called for a mentor. The best you can do is go to where the call came from. The npc that sent you the tell is most likely where the newbie is nearest if not sitting with that particular npc. Just go and see if they really need help and if so point out they have quiet mode on.

Mentor and quiet mode should be linked so that if one requests a mentor, quiet mode is turned off, and if one turns on quiet mode while looking for a mentor, it displays on-screen.

I like to use the 'qq' alias (w/out quotes).
