It's almost expected that you'll follow up something Ardith says with some random comment.

:o

"OMG, U SAWK!!!1``oneoneone" or something like that.

I'd make that comment for anyone that said about a +8/+4 battlespear. Unless you all think that such a weapon is deadly and kills things fast

I want to say I've gotten +9/+9 on the staff of white lightning, but at that point its easy to lose count. ::shrug::

Actually Dark-Avenger there is only one spear subtype more lethal than a battlespear, and thats the ahlspiess.
And in actuality the battlespear ranks as the most well rounded spear, having enough speed to get a fourth with a spec, an above average damage, and an accuracy to match your khopesh. I would say a +8/+4 battlespear in the hands of a specced merc is quite an effective weapon. Sure its not a +9/+9 but very few weapons can hold that many enchantments.

Alright, so let this n00b get it right:

I enchant a weapon and it id's at great to hit and damage. For the heck of it, I enchant it again, brilliantly, but of course it already says great to hit and damage. Does that mean I just added an additional point to hit and damage?

Once you hit greatly, there is no further way to tell how good it is. However, if it keeps accepting enchants, it's still getting better, even if Identify won't tell you the difference.

You increased it by two points actually because it was a "brilliant" (critical) enchant. So if it was +4/+4, it just became +6/+6. Identify will still tell you it's "greatly enchanted" however.

Eskay needs added verbiage to further determine the level of enchanting on things. Let +1 be slight, +2/3 be moderate, +4/5/6 be greatly, and +7 or more be uberly.

*nods sagely*
