Forgive the long log, but this has been happening a lot and I don't know why. Restarting my client, redialing my modem, restarting my computer... Nothing fixes it.

Every blank line is something that was said/done that I missed. Anybody have a similar problem that maybe found a fix for it?

Almost certainly, your mud client has something gagged. Check and recheck all of the settings to be sure.

I've checked everything I can think to check and as far as I can tell nothing has been gagged. I'm using zMUD 7.05 if that helps at all.

It might not be a client issue.

Items can have sound near and sound distance values set, which give you those snazzy 'move messages' that people refer to. If the value of one of those was set to $A, and someone was moving around, you'd all be getting spammed with blank lines.

That's my best guess.

Either you're receiving a blank line, or you're sending the ENTER key.

Make sure both parsing and triggers are disabled (gun and computer icons in bottom-right of zMUD covered in a red X), and see if it keeps happening - if it does, then someone or something in-game is spamming you with something.

If it stops, you've got a run-away trigger or something. Put a #SAY in any obvious aliases or triggers and see if you can narrow it down. Last resort is to turn on the preference in zMUD which spams the screen with the text of any executed triggers.

I don't know if it makes a difference, but I will once in a while get the same thing. Every so often I'll see one or two (usually just one, I think I only saw two once) blank lines get sent on my screen. It doesn't happen alot, and I don't get long strings like that, but it doesn happen.

I always thought it was just a NPC repop that didn't have a room echo. *shrug*

If you're getting one every once in a while, it's probably the area you are in. Some areas don't have 'repop messages', and all you get is a blank like. Several of the cabal HQs are like this, if I recall.

I wasn't hitting enter, I don't use parsing or triggers, and what I quoted here was the worst instance of this I've had so far. Normally it's just three or four lines, whatever caused it to completely block out what a griffon did, said, and had said to him is beyond me.

Every so often if I spam some commands.
get <food> <bag>
eat food
get <drink> <bag>
drink <drink>
put <drink> <bag>

It seams to loose all the commands... it may or may not do the get command, but every other command ends up being just a ^M to the terminal program.

Ive had it happen a few times while i was talking as well, if i start talking very fast or to more then one person at a time. I just chalked it up to lag doing funny things (lost packets or some such)
