You slowly float to the ground.
You have been KILLED!!

You feel more self-confident.
Your force shield shimmers then fades away.
You feel less protected.
You now follow a middle-aged sorceress.
A middle-aged sorceress says 'I'll let you go once I get bored with you.'

Hovering in Midair
  You find yourself hovering over the tower which is quite a ways down below.
Bright white orbs of light are slowly circling around, providing constant light
to the open air space around you. To the north and east, you can see the tower
and large observation bubbles jutting out from it's side like clear, inflamed
blisters on the skin. Above you looms the rest of the tower, but the shadow of
the large building is destroyed by the sufficient lighting provided.
  There seems to be a barrier of some unseen force here that prevents you from
travelling any further away from the tower. Looking out and down below one can
see the green streets of Serpent street down below.

A woman in the prime of her life, is here floating about the room.

It looks like the charm spell you got hit with caused you to lose the INT needed to fly. So you crash landed, got killed, and the messages are just out of order.

As for not flying when dead, maybe your not floating untill you've been to the river and manifested from there?

I also don't recall "charm person" doing any damage to HP.

Its clear from this that you fell from a fall-and-die room. Same as if you fall over a city, etc. So it was losing concentration of fly which caused your death.

That you died cause you lost concentration and fell seems fairly obvious and correct. However, when you fell you should have ended up in the bottom-most room... not sure why that didn't happen. You also should have gotten fly back as a ghost. Again, not sure.

my point exactly D; I know I fell cause I lost the int for a second, and that the messages could be out of order. My question was why I wasnt flying as a ghost, and it would make sense that I would fall to the bottom too I suppose.

Shouldn't his HP have been 0 as well?

Don't mean to bring this topic back up but i posted about this same issue not too long ago.

It seems to me that they maybe related in which case it seems like its a plummet bug which forces you to land and die but then never lets you soar as a ghost. Oh, and when this happens I noticed that you walk around in the river of death as well.
