Apparently you have never seen comedy esque shows where people don tree costumes, and trak somebody through the forests. And Scouts do't wear heavy amor. If you're going to take the "How can they do that" route, they can easily use a sticky substance to fasten the sand to their gear. As for "why"...because they want to be camo'ed. Duh.

P.S. Sorry fortypos. I'm using Konqueror at the moment, and making rply on these forums is freakin pain. I can't type as fast as normal, simply becaus the broser dosnt catch all the letters I type.

You can camo in the desert, isnt that the same principle? If scouts are able to change their garb into something that blends with dunes of sand in one place, they should be able to do it elsewhere as well.

Yeah, you can make the 'not realistic' from here until eternity, but then I've always wondered how someone usually short and fat can suddenly look tall and gaunt, without actually changing appearance (desc). Realism only goes so far, and in that context it doesn't seem particularly far-fetched that scouts should be able to don a couple of sand-covered garments and wear tufts of weathered plants in their coif.

I wouldn't mind it.

This thread has turned to a comedy itself. Right, I see a tree (a tree, NOT a treant) and I say, "Oh, yes, of course, this is a tree, not some dude wearing some silly suit". Thus, the dude is still considered excellently camoed, hm?

Still, I agree that one CAN camo in the sand, he may even dig a hole and enter the sand, or wear something that matches the color of the sand and lay down with some sand on it, or whatever, scouts should be able to camo in the beach imo.

You people have some weird freaky ideas about what camouflage really is. It doesn't mean that a scout puts on a bush or a tree. Or that a scout is a sneaking bush around a field of plains.

It just means he's making himself appear like the surrounding environment, and laying down in maybe a patch of high grass. Or hugging against a tree, maybe hiding in a patch of bushes as well.

Of course, once you know someone is there, then it's almost impossible for them to camouflage.

You, sir, have apparently never seen Solid Snake wearing an alligator hat.

Now THAT'S camo.

Yes, I have. I played the entire game up to that point to the end wearing the croc cap. And it's only really considered camo in the water.

My scout camoes like Rambo.

I don't need to disguise as a tree(that would be a tall tree :P). Just crouch and hide behind one, waiting.

When the target walks by, I slit his thro... I ambush with the bow I mean.
