I don't really think that mirror image is overpowered. I really don't think that the number of images that it provides need to be lessened. I don't think it is the ultimate spell of SK by any stretch of the imagination.

I just think that area-affect spells should bypass it. Hell, I wouldn't mind if it gave the caster 8 mirror images to balance the "nerfing" that would come from allowing area-affect spells to bypass it. It just makes logical sense. Besides, most of those spells belong to warlocks anyway, and any decent sorc is already going to be well-defended against warlock spells, which are universally avoided via RE & reflex enchants.

The maximum number should be highened now that devices will be fixed. Sorcs should be encouraged to hold it themselves. 3 mirrors on weak scrolls would be suitable.

Dalamar, according to Adder on MrP's forums, area of effect spells like gas breath bypasses mirror images (ie. victim will get hit), but it doesn't wipe out all the images like you suggested.

I don't know if fireball and cone of cold work the same way. I'll find out someday.

I'd like to see AoE spells still hit the sorcerer if they're cast on him, yet only if maledictions are changed to hit mirror images.

It's an illusion spell and you could conceivably cast your malediction on one of them. The spirits of voodoo may not be fooled by mirror image but pc characters certainly are. So neither of the circumstances make sense. Area of effect spells should hit the sorcerer and maledictions should hit images.

That'd end up equaling out as a buff. Getting hit by fireballs and etc. is rarely as bad as getting hit by a blindness, sleep, or petrification.
