In the help files, it says that a silver is worth one day's labor for a peasant, yet it costs 3 and a half silver to buy a cup of coffee from the inn. This seems a little extreme for a peasant to have to work for a drink, or am I mistaken in the incredibly low wages of peasants?

The poor just take up slave jobs in Menegroth. Bad work, worse pay, but all the slop you can eat.
