[hat comment doesn't make any sense when you think more about how the system works. Squads scale with number of PC defenders because they are there to encourage you to raid when PCs are around. If there are PC defenders, there won't be many squads. If there are no PC defenders, there will be more and much bigger squads.

You have only three people but want to raid? Raid when you have three PC opponents. That should give the most satisfying experience for everyone involved. That's the goal anyway.

Squads aren't there because I like PvE. They are there to make you less likely to use PvE as the easy way out. A lot of this was explained when the squad system was added, but nobody tested it out immediately afterward so a lot of people missed the point.

I guess I see the point. I'll try attacking with one or two enemies online a few times before I place any further judgements. Perhaps it's just ubar hard with no enemies.

I still hate spawning NPCs though. But then I always loved pkillin' (or emptying places of "lewt") solo, in pairs, threes or fours rather than huge groups that can own anything.

There are a few bugs with the system right now that make it not work so well. People already attack in groups of six to nine and the squads are not a challenge for them. I am working to change that next update.

Isn't the flaw in this that it completely disregards the role played by the guardians themselves? How can a cabal raid be considered "even" when that same successful raid requires that the invaders face an equal number of PC defenders IN ADDITION TO the outer and then inner guardians?

It seems to me that the balance that is missing in this equation (and is hopefully the balance you're trying to find in the system) is how to discourage ninjar raids via the AI and yet encourage PvP raids that provide a challenge for both the invaders and the defenders. Unfortunately, if you're looking to encourage equal numbers of invaders vs. defenders, the added element of the extremely powerful inner guardians can drastically throw off that balance.

Aside from the fact that after the inner guardian is defeated that the NPCs still pop up, I have participated and defended cb centers. It is fine just the way it is. You are suppose to get very large groups to attack. Not ninjar raids that has been done in the past. If you have a very large group 8 or 9 there will be no problem with the NPCs unless you are attacking the inner guardian and they pop up. The inner guardian's damage needs to be fixed also such that it does pure magical damage and not poison.

Dalamar hit the nail on the head. Repeatedly.
