Doesn't weight affect other things too, such as dodge, or perhaps swim?

Weight does affect dodge.

Assist also doubles your attacks for the first round.

Certain cabal skill gives extra attacks.

About the certain cabal skill, not assist.

Just to clarify, assist can potentially double the number of attacks you get in the first round. A certain cabal skill, when unarmed, will double your attacks each round.
