I'll disagree with a hellion as a starting class idea. Hellions are...well, they're brash, arrogant, demandiing and above all, hostile characters. The sort of attitude that that class demands is farfetched for a true newbie who doesn't know where to get stuff, and really, how to maximize their spellpower. Paladins are great - hellions, not so much.

Certainly hellions aren't the best starting class, but they do have some things that would be attractive to new players: both physical and magical prowess, heavy armor (no need to worry about what kind of equipment to wear), and required religious RP.

Hellions are a fantastic starting class. And of course you can make a hellion who follows orders, you don't have to be arrogant towards your own leaders etc.

Hellions are the bomb shiggity for teaching newbs tactics as well.

Hellions are fine to begin with. I think they are even better than paladins for a newbie, since with dominate/invis/hide/intimidate/wor a newbie will get to explore SK world rather safely.

For something beyong that though... I will agree with what Konge and Ardith say.

This thread is about priest spells, not hellions.
