Code:
(Grey Aura) A towering undead figure sways slightly here, its arms dangling in
the air.
(Grey Aura) A towering undead figure sways slightly here, its arms dangling in
the air.
(Dark Aura) The emissary of the Council hovers in midair, surveying the area
around her.

That just seems wrong to me

they're emissaries, meaning they've been gone so long from krychire that they softened up and now cuddle with griffon plush toys when no one's watching.

possible real reason? pallies/priests would come and drop them with one BoG/SoF/HW and gain sick xp?

I know that there are many grey undead in Necropolis. But, I've never seen a lightie pally/priest training in there. Mummies are grey, elven banshees are grey, even the evil jackal-headed figures are grey. I don't know if the banshees are type 'undead', but I'm fairly sure the other two are healed by cause spells. And if they aren't they should be, but there's auras should be dark.

Bug/Typo log any such undead you see in the room they are.

The problem is not only undead, some times the builder doesn't notice such details. There have been 2 sargasian NPCs(hellion/priest) and both were anarchists.

There was a type of deep elf in the deep elf city that use to be grey aura. Typo log it for the builder to take a second look at when ever you see such oddities. If nothing gets done with in a month do it again. Thats what I remember being told when I brought it up. There is no need to "bug" log it because its not a code base thing its a builder issue. Bug log should be saved for things that are flaws in the code.

It should be dark, period. It's undead.

Unfortunately, I think you can make a case for white-aura'd undead. Not all apparitions are spirits are evil in nature. I wouldn't make a blanket statement saying they should all be darkies.

I'm afraid I have to agree with Salak, though I think 99% should be dark.

Some necromancer should kill Burton and animate him so that Taslamar has an undead paladin King. Unwilling to be undead, but to much of a King to abondon his people. Then open the blood orb and make Renidius King!

Wasn't Lord Varloch once a paladin...while alive at least?
