If we are going to start thinking about this totally realistically, how are you going to parry any two handed weapon with a one handed weapon? Considering we all have 25 str, I doubt anyone would be strong enough to block a two handed swing with one weapon.

Lots of ways, redirection is one of them... But that is not the problem, we arent dealing with an issue of realism, we are dealing with the weapon making contact with someone and that someone dodging at the same time. As cyra said, you cant dodge something that already hit you.

I remember with my first two swashies when e-parry and riposte did the damage directly. No extra attack, just "You riposte soandso's attack!" and it did damage.

That must have been more than 4-5 years ago.

It's completely plausible for one handers to parry two handers. We assume people with landsknechts aren't doing full golf/baseball bat swings, but shorter strokes, otherwies it leaves them extremely vulnerable to attack.

That's a normal thing that is taught within swordsmanship. You don't swing your sword very far at all.

In fact that's with every weapon. However, the force generated by weapons is tremendous. A normal slender bo staff is going to crack skulls very easily.

OT please? And instead of more player deliberation, could we get a bit of immput(im hilarious)? Achy, in light of the clarification, what do you think now?

On the topic of one handers deflecting two-handers. Arsilan is correct, those tactics are taught when you taught how to use your weapon. Whether you want to believe it or not, a bo staff can parry an axe or a sword. When you are taught to use a bo staff (or any other fighting technique), you are taught to not just deflect the blow via a true block. It is always a deflection. That is how realy parrying is--with or without weapons.

Also, I am curious about what the imm staff thinks about this anywho also.

Fortunately, you cannot parry bullets. Many generals saw this advantage in the 1800's and adapted it to their tactics.

Your probably right, their may be a way if your really really fast to somehow interscept the swing and try to make it barely miss you. But of course if you have a landsknecht your going to be taking massive arcing swings using all your strength. If not you wouldn't be using it because thats its only point. Blocking an attack like that would be impossible.
