After reading the discussion, does this still seem like a good idea to you to bridge the gap?
(5) Yes, I think this is a great idea to bridge the gap, despite any possible side-effects. 38%  38%  [ 25 ]
(4) Yes, I think this is a fair enough solution, although it will create problems. 15%  15%  [ 10 ]

I can't see any real cons about it, Other than the fact that most high end equipment (adamantite and energy) start becoming available at the very last level of master.

I don't think it would cause any imbalance either. The stretch from master to GM doesn't mean much in anything. It's all about prestige.

Make it so, number 1.

If you want to play a master status char, and never level up once you hit master, accept the supreriority of Champion/GM chars, and stick with Tanso.

Adamantite, Energy and 1337 stuff are for those who care to take it one step beyond. If you wanna stick to master, accept the nice tanso gear, perhaps with an extra enchant or two. There's good armor/weapon/rings/bracelets/necklaces for master status.

Simple as that.

Else, why not have my master char filled with the 1337est gear?
OR why not make a master char, plvl him in 3-4 days, and make him a hoard sack?

Champion. This is where I have been stuck. It seems to be the most difficult. I vote for this because there are GMs that are at times forced to reincarnate (when there are no priests at 4am) and go get back their things. They may lose a GM item or two between then and the next time they can play. They may get energy drained down to death and THEN have to reincarnate...

I am for the idea 100%. I think it should be champion, not master. That way there still is a distinction for the last few levels, not the last ten.

Because then you're forcing everyone to be grandmaster or not be anywhere as effective as they could be at PK. GM definitely gives advantages, and this is one of the advantages that could be curbed to level the playing field for both newer players and people who simply do not feel the need to push to GM. These people already take a hit in not having the best possible skills and spells or max trains, but the 'complete' character is supposed to be at Master, so honestly, why not?

I don't like the idea either. It's still a joke to hit Master. Hard times start from there on. And I sure dun wanna see level 41 chars running around to hoard loot. At least in the process of leveling, there is a place to find them and interact with them. And there would be very few reasons to hit Gm then. Perhaps at champion, as Benzo said.

I will have to dissagree with teh1337n00b here and say that even tanso, if enchanted, can get "GM quality" I totaly agree with the idea.
If GMs are that one step beyond then they can take the good stuff easier. but with the recent code changes where you have to work hard to get to Master(IMHO) I think you have earned the reward not to see that despicefull message when you log on.

I think this is the best of both worlds. First level master seems a bit much considering that it may make it tempting for some of the vets to multiplay and have a storage character in only a few hours. Grandmaster just leaves no room at the top for skill levels. You either get to GM by knowing the game well, or by knowing someone who knows the game well. Champion is another story.

I don't like the idea one bit. There's a difference between levelling the player field between noobs and vets and just appealing to the crowd that isn't patient enough to go out and train some more. Face it, levelling isn't too hard of a job to tackle, and it can be dealt with in time, either quickly by plevelling, or by asking other players around you. It doesn't take a high amount of skill, although it might take the right friends.

Getting to GM in itself is a learning experience. For the noobs who have never done it, by not requiring it to be extraordinary you give them less incentive and they miss out on some things. For the vet players who already have GMed many times, you're just letting them be lazy. I say to keep it the way it is.
