Disclaimer: These are merely concepts, these are not absolutes. There are generic and meant only to give an idea of what COULD be done. Feel free to grab any concept and make it your own.

That being said, the idea here is to give basic generic concepts for people to have an idea about. There are times where newbies come to the game and they just aren't sure what to play or how to play it. This is just to give ideas, these are NOT absolutes.

This is to help new players just getting started and old players who just can't figure out what they want to play. Remember, individualizing characters comes from the quirks and personality traits given to them by you, the player.

Drunken dwarven berserker: This is a dwarven barbarian who likes to drink.

Giant with a mission: Giant saw guy on horse in shiny armor who destroy village, find guy and destroy him (A giant with a hate for paladins/hellions/battlepriests, but especially one particular faith).

Fallen paladin: A mercenary who because of his past feels unworthy of the knighthood and duties of a paladin. Likely to always be seeking redemption.

Racist: This applies to any race. You could think that your race is the best and all others are below you and some should be slaves or do not deserve to live (Be warned, should you take a concept like this, be ready to be hated).

Fanatical priest: You believe every word your God has ever said and anyone who doubts the word of your God is a heretic and must die!

Devout priest: You believe deeply in your faith. You believe your God to hold the truest path in life, but you are more than willing to have a spirited debate about it and are more accepting of other people's views.

Wanderlust Scout: You are a scout and you will never step foot in the cities unless it is after someone who was bad to the animals and forest. You will wander through all the kingdoms, exploring.

Bookworm Sorcerer: your nose belongs in that book! You run all over the place trying to read everything, trying to learn everything. You're more likely to run a scribe business to afford your learning habit.

Kill-Death-Destruction Sorcerer: If it moves, blast it out of the water! Even Bones ain't putting the bodies back together when you are done with them and that Picasso guy, he ain't got nothing on your talents to rearrange bodies and faces.

Noble Duelist: Honor means everything and you want to be the best duelist. You will hone your skills, grow in strength, and then challenge your equals. You will accept challenges from those under you and you will instruct those learning the craft to help them improve.

Pious Paladin: Your God has given to you a message and you will carry out. Pray for those who oppose your views and defy your God for they shall fall in your wake.

Pissed off Hellion: Oh look, there's a trail of bodies left behind and they've all got hoof prints on them. You are going to destroy everything and if someone gets in your way, friend or foe, they can die too.

Dark Experimenter: The necromancer who enjoys twisting the living and creating new undead. The living are merely toys to understand the tortures of the human souls. It is their death you want eventually to use to make stronger undead.

* Remember: these are just ideas and concepts of things that COULD be played. These are NOT absolutes of what must be played. Feel free to be inspired by one of these ideas and make it your own. Also, feel free to toss up more random, generic concept ideas for people to look over and think about.

You need to find something else to do, too much time on your hands.

I'm sorry, generally doing something constructive and helpful to other people is not considered, at least in my book, as having 'too much time on my hands.'

Next, I did that post in 5-10 minutes while taking a break from grading two quizzes and 20+ practice sets. Oh, all of which I finished by noon and left work to go pick up my car.

Now please, contribute a post only if you have something to help other people with ideas and thoughts, not to try to degrade me, because in the end, it only makes you look like a bigger....

on another note, these are pretty good..but if you have to get ideas from a list for noobies, leave out the ones most likely to get the noobie killed, like the pissed off hellion.

You'll notice there's an edit on the original post. My comment was a tongue in cheek reference to the fact that Native Puff originally stated that the "giant with a mission" was out to destory some guy.

You won't find such typos from me, I'm afraid.

I would suggest all elves, deep-elves, griffons, and to a lesser degree all polarized alignment chars (with the occasional nonconformist) are racists. And racists don't necessarily need to think their race is the creme-de-la-creme but that certain other races need eliminated.

For example:
People who think griffons are unnatural or halfbreeds.
People who think half-elves are halfbreeds.
Both of which should be destroyed for racial purity.

Elves and griffons hate deep-elves. Deep elves hate elves and griffons. Light aura hate to a sometimes lesser degree deep-elves. Dark aura hate to a lesser degree elves and griffons.

Another basic concept is an orphan who became adult. Were you the bully of the orphanage or the one being bullied? Do you expect people to fall in line behind you or are you totally lost in the "real world"? I think this idea would be one that would allow you the most "growing room" as your char ages and learns, with the end-result as your char nears old age (we can always dream) that it has had a total personality change from where it started. It also allows you to "know nothing about anything in Pyrathia".
