BoG ignores alignment in all cases except for priests. For example, if a lightie sorceror polymorphs into a deep-elf he is susceptible to bolt of glory.

I can see that reading comprehension has failed you, Konge. The helpfile states that it's only supposed to work against evil. It may not necessarily check for alignment because it is set up to toast the undead race if it hits them but undead are supposed to be evil in the game of SKs. And that's how bolt of glory is supposed to work, since paladins don't have much of a reason to go around attacking white aura and grey aura characters and NPCs.

They're like mercenaries, only specialized in dealing with evil.

Eh, sorry, I actually thought that my post was on topic, but reading through the thread I can see that it wasn't :-?

I thought it was a discussion about what BoG actually hit and I brought my own experience forward (I tried it when I was a lightie sorc with tribunal paladins under me).

I agree that all undeads should be dark auraed, but I do however think that BoG should still hit those who have polymorphed into deep-elves for two reasons. To limit twinkage, despite the obvious stupidity on the paladins side they can completely void a paladin spamming c bolt delf. Secondly, because partly the spell makes the evil soul of the target suffer, but also the deep-elves light resistance plays a part.

Bolt of glory hits deep-elves because deep-elves are weak against light and the bolt is brilliantly radiant as described by the helpfile. When you polymorph into a race you assume their weaknesses and strengths. Because deep-elves are weak to the light aspect of bolt of glory it affects all deep-elves. That and there was only 1 light based spell in the game before bolt of glory was added that property.

Sure, the light should hurt, but do you get nimbused™?
