I want to suggest something i have been pondering on for quite some time.

I have come to realise that Cabals and Tribunals are more bound together than religions are. I have tried to figure out why and i believe i have an idea. Let me explain.

As it works now, the game is a Roleplaying one, but with massive ammounts of PvP and PK. The CRS also, orients people more towards Pvp/PK.
With this focus (Pk/PvP) when a player gets attacked or hunts someone, he almost always speaks in his cabal/tribunal channel, asking for aid because:

a) With a single line "cb blah blah" they can broadcast to numerous people the situation, location, nature. They can get multiple replies there and coordinate better.
b) With no effort at all, they can reach camoe'd, hidden, invisible members of their cabal and tell them the nature of the problem.

This is all fine, but considering a cabal or a tribunal is not a lifetime commitment and you can resign from it or be thrown out, while religions are a lifetime commitment, ones that you may not retire or be removed from the HF it sounds a bit ackward.

Lets assume i would like to get my church members to aid me in a said situation, rather than my cabal. I would have to send a tell to each member i see in flock, seperately, get noumerous replies, and have to re-answer noumerous times back to get them to aid me. I would not be able to communicate with camo'ed and hidden or invisible people, since i would have to sense them with detections. It gets messy if you send 4 tells, receive 4 replies and have to re-send 4 replies in return to get aid.

Thus i am proposing, to establish RELIGIOUS CHAT (rl bla bla bla) as are CABAL CHAT channels (cb bla bla bla).
I seriously think it would aid religions get closer, coordinate more easily. I dont see why cabals would be able to form that kind of mental communication, while being inducted, and Lords themselves would not be able to bestow the ability to their followers to communicate thus.

All in all, let me know what you think. I believe it would bring religions closer, strengthen them and aid to the coordination of Pk/PvP as well as roleplaying.

If I had my way CB would be removed. More global channels are not a solution, designed and executed RPs are.

No, we don't need more private channels in the game.

Let me state for the record that I ABSOLUTELY HATE muds with "gossip" "chat" "newbie" "oldbie" "XXXbie" "trade" etc Channels...

I just want to give religions a chance to be more united and more elidgible for quick communication, the advantage Cabals and Tribunals have.

For Alshain's sake, i would hate to see SK have channels over channels! :O

Religions have noteboards to keep in contact.

And by suggesting religion channels you try to put SK that much closer to that.

Religions are supposed to be more open. Cabals and tribunals have their own channels for the sake that they have different goals than a religion does.

Besides, when people are in tribunal/cabals and religions, what happens then?

No. Noteboards are better for broadcast messages, since offline members can get them too. RP is better in person, and is arranged easily enough. Religious adventuring groups already have gtell.

It's true that a channel has benefits for tactical coordination - but religions aren't nearly as involved in PK as cabals and tribunals. Sure there's the odd "war" or execution of a heretic. But it's not the regular PK even tribunal members expect, let alone cabal members. Without a pressing need, SK is better off without 17 new global channels.

Cabalmates are allies. Always. If you're not, then someone's getting thrown out pretty soon.

By contrast, members of religions can range from best allies to enemies, and this is especially true of the hellion and grey religions.

Believing in a god doesnt make you allies.

Muslims, jews, and christians all believe in the same god, their faiths are still different. Some extreme muslims even looking to eradicate the others, some extreme christians looking to eradicate the others as well.

Believing in a religion does not make you allies.

I would consider it under the pretext that it operates differently than a cabal channel which you can hear wether you're dead, asleep, ect...and talk on as such.


If religion channels could only be heard if you were awake, not deaf, not dead, and wearing a symbol and able to detect the person and it costs as much mana as sending a tell to every single present religous member online would cost at the time, then id consider it. It would be like a mass tell then and that I am cool with.
